At the General Quarter Session of the Peace of Our Soverign Lord the King holden for
the County of Middx at Hicks hall in St: John Street in the County aforesaid by Adjournment on
Saturday the Sixteenth Day of January in the Twenty first Year of the Reign of Our Soverign Lord George
the Second King of Great Britain Etc before Thomas Lane< no role > Merry Teshmaker< no role > William Withers< no role > o [..]
John Lawton< no role > Esquires and others their Fellows Justices of Our said Lord the King assigned to keep the
Peace in the County aforesaid and also to hear & determine divers Felonies Trespasses and other Misdeeds
committed in the same County

Whereas the Church Wardens and Overseers of the poor of the Parish of Eyham in the County of Surry have exhibited
their humble Petition and Appeal unto this Court setting forth that by Virtue of an Order or Pass Warrant under the
Hands & Seals of Thomas Ellys< no role > and George Howard< no role > Esquires two of his Majesty's Justices of the Peace for the City and
Liberty of Westminster in the County of Middx (one whereof being of the Quorum) bearing Date the Third Day of October
One Thousand seven hundred and forty seven (which Order was not served on the Petitioners till the Twelfth Day of the
said October which was after the Commencement of the General Quarter Sessions at that time assembled for the
County of Middx by Reason whereof the Petitioners were prevented from appealing to the said General Quarter Session
One Elizabeth Bagley< no role > Widow of Michael Bagley< no role > lately dceved and Catherine< no role > her Child were removed from out of the
Parish of St. Margaret in the City of Westminster into the said Parish of Egham in the County of Surry as the place
of the last legal Settlement of the Said Elizabeth Bagley< no role > and Catherine her Child and that the Petitioners conceiving
themselves aggreived by the said Order do appeal against the same Now upon Motion made unto this Court by
Mr: Serjt. Hayward of Councell for the said Appellants alledging that the sd: Elizabeth Bagley< no role > and the said Catherine her
Child more not removed by Virtue of the said Order or Pass Warrant to the said Parish Egham nor the said Order
or Pass Warrant delivered to the said Apellants or any of them untill the Twelfth Day of October now last past being after
the Commencement of the last General Quarter Session of the Peace holden for the County of Middx. Which began & was
holden at Westminster in and for the said County on Thursday the Eighth Day October now last, and that the present General
Quarter Session of the Peace (which began & was holden at Hicks hall in St. John Street in and for the said County
of Middx on Tuesday the twelfth Day of January Instant and which stands continued by several Adjourments untill
this Sixteenth Day of January aforesaid) being the next General Quarter Session of the Peace holden for the County
of Middx after the time of the said Removal and Delivery of the said Order or Pass Warrant to the said Apellants
the said Appeal is now exhibited in due and proper Times It was therefore prayed on Behalf of the said
Apellants and this Court doth accordingly Order that the hearing and determining the Matter of the said
Appeal be and the same is hereby adjourned untill the next General Session of the Peace to be holden for the said
County of Middx and that the Church Wardens and Overseers of the Poor of the said Parish of St: Margaret (upon
Notice of this Order) and all Persons concerned do attend the Court of the said next General Session of the Peace to be
holden for the said County by Adjournment on Tuesday the Twenty third Day of February next at Ten of
the Clock in the forenoon to hear and abide the Judgment and Determination of the same Court touching the said
Appeal But this Court doth declarce that the Adjourning the hearing of the Said Appeal as above is to be
without Prejudice to the Inhabitants of the said Parish St. Margaret In Case the Court shall be of
Opinion that the said Appeal is not Exhibited in due time.
