the said parish assembled together did make a List
of a competent Number of the Inhabitants of the
said parish qualifyed to serve the Office of [..]
Surveyors of the high ways in the said parish for
the yeare then ensueing (to wit) Thomas Stone< no role >
Alexander Battell< no role > Henry Rosewell< no role > & Rice Thomas< no role > ,
which said List they did return to several of his
Maties Justices of the peace for the Said County
at a Special Sessions held for the Said Division at
the Bush Inn in Staines in the Said Division
on the eleventh day of Jannary then next following
And that notwithstanding such return the Justices
present at the Said Special Sessions did appoint
by Warrant Under their hands & seales one John
King
< no role > an Inhabitant of the said parish who was
not returned in the said List to be a Surveyor of
the high ways in the said parish, And that the Petrs.
think themselves to this Court against the same,
And pray that the said John King< no role > may bedischarge
discharged from the said Office of Surveyor of the
high ways, and that one of the other persons
named in the Said List may be appointed in his
room, Whereupon at the request of the Petr. [..]
It is Ordered by this Court that the Benefit of the
Said appeale be saved unto them, And that the hearing
& determining hereof be and the same is hereby
adjourned untill the next General Quarter Session
of the peace to be holden for this County, And
that the Said John King< no role > (upon notice of this Order
