parish of St. James Clerkenwell in the [..] County of
Middx exhibited then humble peticon & appeale
unto this Court at this present General Quarter Sessions of
the peace holden for the said County by adjournment [..]
on Tuesday the twenty seventh day of April last [..]
Setting forth that Henry Howard< no role > John Burdett< no role > John
Godfrey
< no role > This name instance is in set 296. & William Coates< no role > have been lately nominated
or appointed by two of his maties Justices of the peace
of the said County by their warrant or Order for
that purpose to be Overseers of the poor of the sd. Parish
for the yeare ensueing, But such nominacon or
appointment hath been, as the Petrs. humbly conceived,
made in an under manner and of persons not qualifyed
or lyable to serve the said Office, And that the Petrs.
conceiving themselves aggrieved by the sd. Appointmt.
Warrant or Order humbly appealed therefrom, And
prayed to be releived against the same as to this
Court should seem meet And that a day might be appointed for hearing of the said
appeale and the sd persons before named might then attend with
the said warrant or appointment And that Thomas Harvey< no role >
who served the said Warrant might then alsoe attend and be
examined touching the same the matter of which peticon &
appeale was appointed to be heard & determined by this
Court on this present Friday the thirtyeth day of April
