WHEREAS Complaint hath been made by you the
Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of the said
Parish ofKensingtonunto us whose
Hands and Seals are hereunto let, two of His Majesty's Justices of
the Peace (Quorum unns) for theCountyaforesaid, That
Mary-Banister< no role > Single woman
lately intrudedherselfinto your said Parish of
Kensington there to Inhabit asaParishioner contrary to
the Laws relating to the Settlement of the Poor, andshethere likely
to become, Chargeable, if not timely prevented: And whereas,
upon due Examination and Enquiry made into the Premises,
upon Oath and other Circumstances
it appears unto Us, and We acordingly Adjudge, That the said
Mary Banister< no role > is
likely to become Chargeable unto the said Parish ofKensington
and that the last Legal Place of Settlement of the said
Mary Banister< no role > was in the said Parish of St. Giles's Cripple
=Gate in the sd City of London
These are therefore, in His Majesty's Name, to Order and Require
you the said Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of the
Parish ofKensingtonaforesaid, that you, or some
of you, do forthwith Remove and Convey the saidMary Banister< no role >
from your said Parish ofKensington
to the said Parish ofSt: Giles's Criple-Gate andherdeliver
to the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor there, or some or
one of them, together with this our Warrant or Order, or a true
Copy hereof, whereby they are likewise Required, in His Majesty's
Name, and by Virtue of the Statutes in such Case made, forthwith
to receive the saidMary Banister
into their saidParishand provide forher
as their own Parishioner: Given under our Hands, and Seals,
the3d:Day ofDecemberAnno ReginDui Georgy:
