P Adjorn Jovis 14 o die Octobris 1725 .

Upon reading the humble peticon of John Sparkes< no role > one of the Constable
of the parish of Endfeild in this County exhibited unto this Court Setting
forth that about three yeares & a halfe since John Hewett< no role > One of the Constable
of Endfeild aforesaid the person appointed by the Com to convey the
vagrants by passes to the next adjoyning County dyeing the petr did
applye to succed him, And the petr by the psuassions of Henry Mackeris< no role >
& on his faithfull prmisses to Serve the petr. did instrust the said Mackeris< no role > to
Solluit the matter for him But that the said Mackeris< no role > instead of
Serveing the petr or regarding his prmisses did make Interest & obteyne
the employment for himselfe telling the petr selfe Interst guided all
men, And doth (tho' a man of very good Substance & Estate) continue
to convey the vagrants by persons hired for that purpose) being
above doeing the duty himselfe And doth receive from this County
for hi trouble & Expences the Sallery of sixty pounds p Annm
And that the petr by the Order of the High Constable of Endfeild hath
at his owne Cost & charges conveyed severall Vagrants & still doth
Keep A Horse for that purpose and can perform that Service
cheaper than the same is now done, And that the petr is desireous
& willing to maintain the great charge of his family by his
labour a diligence, and verily believes he might have
Succeeded the Said John Hewett< no role > had he not relyed on the
Said Mackeris< no role > pmisse of Sollicting for him, And the petr.
therefore humbly prayes the direscon of this Court and that
the said Mackeris< no role > may be debarred from acting, And that
the petr may be appointed by this Court to pass the said Vagrand
Where upon His Ordered by this Court hat the consideracon of the
matters contained in the Said peticon be adjourned untill the County
day in the next Generall Sessions of the peace to be holden for this
County (to witt) Thursday the Ninth day of December next at
three of the Clock in the after noon And that the petr. & the
Said Henry Mackeris< no role > dothen attend the Court of the Same Sessions
touching the prmes, And A coppy of this Order is in the mean time to
be served upon the said Henry Mackeris< no role > ,
