We his Majtyes Justices of the peace for the County of Middx
(Quor Unus) and resideing near to the parish Church of St Ann
Westmr: in the County of Middx, haveing heard the Com playnt
of the Church: wardens and Overseers: of the poor of the sd Parish
of St: Ann, touching a Male Bastard Childe born in the sd parish
of St. Ann of the Body of Jane Sells< no role > Single: woman on the
Eleventh day of this Instat June , and hath been chargable to
the sd Parish of St. Ann and likely to continue so. do find by
Examinacon of the sd Jane Sells< no role > (upon her Oath) and other
cercumstances and proofes. That Willim Bromfield< no role > of the old
Exchange within the City of London Gentleman did beget on
the Body of the sd Jane sells< no role > the sd make Bastard Childe.
There fore we do adjudg him the sd Willm Bromfield< no role > to be the
reputed Father of the sd male Bastard Childe. And thereupon
We do Order (as well for releife as to save harmless and
Endempnifye the sd parish of St: Ann , and hereafter for
maintaining and keeping of the sd male Basturd Childe)
That the sd Willim Bromfield,< no role > Shall and do forthwith pay or
cause to be paid unto the Church wardens and Overseers: of the
poor of the sd Parish of St: Ann , for and towards the Charges
of lyeing in, and keeping of the sd male Bastard Childe
for the first four weeks the sum of Two pounds and Five
shillings. And also after the expiration of the sd. first four weeks
the sd Willm Bromfield< no role > shall Weekly and every Week pay
unto the Church wardens and Overseers, of the poor of the sd
parish if St: Ann (for the time being) or to some or one of them
the sum of Two Shillings and six pence, so long as the sd
Childe shall be chargable to the sd parish of St: Ann . And
forthwith give sufficient Security to the Church Wardens &
Overseers: of the poor of the sd Parish of St: Ann for the true
performance of this our Order or finde sufficient Suertyes for
his personall appearance, at the next Genrall Quarter Sessions
of ht peace to be held for the sd County [..]
to abide such order, as his Majtyes Justices of the peace
or the more part of them shall take in that behalf. Given
under our hands and seals this 19th Day of June: Ano Regni
Dom uri Regis Georgy Magne Britanie Etc. Now Ano Dom
