WHEREAS it appeareth unto Us, whose Hands and Seals
are hereunto set, Two ofhisMajestics Justices of the
Peace for theCounty of Middlx
(Quorum unus) upon the Complaint of the Church Wardens and Over-
seers of the Poor of the Parish ofSt Mary Islington
in the said County.thatSusanna Davis< no role > daughter of
John Davis< no role > is
lately come into the said Parish, endeavouring to Settle
herselfethere without giving Notice in Writing to the said
Church-Wardens, or Overseers of the Poor, or any one of them, of the
House ofherabode in the said Parish, according to
the Statute in that Case made and provided ; And that the said Susanna
Davis
< no role > by reason of her poverty is
likely to become chargeable to the said Parish:which we adjudge to be trueAnd whereas it appeareth
unto us,the said Justices upon the Oath of Mary

thatshe waslast legally settled in the Parish ofSt
James Clerkenwell in the said County And no other
legall Settlement elsewhere appearing unto as Since
Wee doe alsoe adjudge the said Parish of St. James
Clerkenwell to be the place of her last legall Settlement
These are therefore inhisMajesties Name strictly to Charge and Com-
mand you and every of you, forthwith upon sight hereof to remove and
convey the saidSusanna Davis< no role >
from the said Parish ofSt. Mary Islington
in the said Countyto the said Parish ofSt. James
Clerkenwell in the said County
and deliverherunto the Church-Wardens and Overseers of the
Poor there, who are hereby required to provide forher
according to Law: Hereof fail not at your Perils. Given under our Hands
and Seals, thetwelfthday ofFebruaryin theninth Year
of the Reign of our SoveraignLord Georgeby the Grace of God,
of Great Britain, France, and Ireland,KingDefender of the
Faith Etc Annoq; Dom. 1722.
