This Court considering that it may very much conduco [..]
to the peace & good order wch ought to be sent & observe up then this County to have fit & more persons chosen into the Offices of
Housekeeper of Hickshall & Cryer of the Generall
Quarter Sessions of the peace for this County as also into the offices of the the Keeper
of New prison & Keeper of the House of Correccon
at Clerkenwell in this County, when the same
become respectively Vacant, fu caseand that the eleccon of
such Officers be hereafterby way of ballotting,
will be the next preper method for the choice ofchusing of them It is thereupon Ordered by this Court that the
method of electing the Sd. Officers or any
other Officers (who have offices of profit) (who any have a profit by their
respective Offices) under the nominaton & appointmt.
of the Justices of the peace for this County shall
for the future be by way of ballotting & not
otherwise,
