Upon Complaint made unto this Court by Sr William Benson< no role >
Knight Lawrence Hatsell< no role > Esqr . one of his Maties Justices of the peace for this County that
severall psons have of late Years assembled & mett together in
great numbers att Stratford le Bow & Bromley in this County
on prtence of keeping A faire their comonly called Green Goose fair and on Such prtence have Erected
Severall Booths and Shedds on Severall parts of his Maties Highways
leading from the City of London to Romford in Essex through Stratford
le Bow & Bremleg aforesaid and that Such persons have in Severall
of the Said Boothy & Shedds kept Severall drolls poppitt shows
interludes & other unlawfull Games & without any license or
Authority Sold by retaile great Quantitys of Brandy Beer Al [..]
& other Liquors And that great Numbers of psons resort to Such
Booths & Shedds in Carts & Carriadges which greately obstruct
& among the Said highways & hinder & greately annoy Severall
passengers travelling through Stratford le Bow & Bromley aforesaid
upon their lawfull Occasions And that Severall Quarrells Riotts rents
Bloodshedds & other Misdemeanours have frequently happened by
meanes thereof to the great terrour damage & annoyance of many of
his Maties leige Subjects It is thought fitt & Ordered by this Court that
for the prevencon of Such Offences for the future noe pson or psons doe
hereafter prsume to Erect or cause to be Erected any Booths or Shedds
