me Ralph Marshall< no role > Esqr . this 26th. day of
November Anno Din 1698.

Who upon his Oath Saith That Samuell Anderton< no role > and Simon
Gibbs
< no role > came in Soldiers habitts into Mr. Abbotts Shopp in Kingstreete
Covent Garden this afternoone about four of the Clock, and desired
to See Some Cloth for Shirting, and after he had Shown them
Severall peices for which they bid him a value that the could not
take they went away, and being Suspected to have Stolen
Something [..] they were pursued to the Thisle and Crowne
in Henrietta Streete in Covent Garden aforesaid, where three
Small parcells of his Masters Cloth, was found under a
Table in a Roome by them, and that the reason of the
Suspicion: was from the Information of Samuell Clavis< no role > who
happen'd to be in the shopp of the sd. Abbott and observed, that
the said Anderton carryed Something that was bulkie away
with him, out of the said Shopp, under his Coate.

Who upon his Oath Saith that he being in the shopp of Mr.
Abbott a Linnen draper in King Streete Covent Garden this
Evening about four of the Clock, he Observed a Soldier
to go out of the said Shopp with Some what bulkie under
his Coate: gave notice thereof to Mr. Abbotts apprentice
Whereupon they pursued him to the Signe of the Thisle
& Crowne in Henrietta Streete Covent Garden aforesaid
and found under a Table in a Roome where the said Anderton
was in three small peices of Cloth, and noe other person in the Roome
