The said Committee Report That they were
attended by Robert Howard< no role > and Joseph Gurney< no role > Bevan
two of the people called Quakers who stated that a
Friend of theirs named Thomas Scatterwood< no role > a
Quaker from Philadelphia had felt much Sympathy
for Prisoners and had a great desire to Address a
Religious discourse to the Prisoners collectively in the Prisons
belonging to this County if the Justices of the peace would
permit him so to do and your Committee having
Considered the Application are of opinion That the
request of the said Robert Howard< no role > and Joseph Gurney< no role >
Bevan ought not to be Complied with

And the said Committee further Report That in
pursuance of the Order made at the last General Session
of the peace held for this County recommending it to
your Committee to Advertize for Proposals for
