October 1798.

By adjournment same Day

It appearing to this Court by the Report of the Comm
of Accounts that very large sums of Money have been
expended in Butchers Meat and other Articles for the use
of the Prisoners in the New House of Correction for this
County and it being the Opinion of the Court that in
future the Butchers Meat and other Articles
necessary for the purposes aforesaid should be provided
by Contract in stead of purchasing the same as is
at present practised, - Resolved That a Committee
be appointed to Enquire into the Receipt and Expendi-
-ture of the Butchers Meat and other Articles
provided for the Prisoners in the said House of
Correction and that the said Committee do also take
into Consideration all other Expences incurred in
manageing and Conducting the Affairs of the said
Prison and that the said Committee Do Report
their Opinion thereon to the Court and that the said
Committee do meet on Tuesday next at 12. o'Clock
precisely and that the Chairman of the Session

William Hyde< no role > Esqr . William Marmaduke Sellon< no role > Esqr.
Rupert Clarke< no role > Esqr . John Bond< no role > Esqr . Charles
Churchill Esqr . Daniel Williams< no role > Esqr . and David
Dean Esqr . be such Committee and that the Committee
do meet and adjourn from time to time as they
shall think proper.

The Clerk of the peace having informed the Court
That very large Demands had been brought to him to be
laid before the Committee of Accounts relative to the
Supplementary Militia by Mr. Stables and several
other Persons engaged in that business Resolved
That a Committee be appointed to Examine and
