"Samuel Bridgman< no role > Gentleman High Constable
"of Finsbury Division in this County had Continued
"in the said Office Three Years Ordered That
"notice hereof be given to His Majesty< no role > 's Justices of the
"peace for this County residing and acting in and for
"the said Division to Nominate some fit Person to
"the next General Quarter Sessions of the peace to serve
"the said Office

"By the Court,
"Selby.

"The following Petiton and Recommendation
"thereof was also laid before the Meeting and Read
"Vizt.

"No. - 50. Red Lion Street Clerkenwell .
"June 1798.

"Worshipful Gentlemen

"I take the Liberty of respectfully offering
"myself for your Approbation as a Candidate for the office
"of High Constable of Finsbury Division in the County of
"Middlesex , I beg leave to represent to Your Worships
"that I am by Trade an Oilman and have been an
"Housekeeper in the said Division Nineteen Years

"I flatter myself my Character will bear the
"strictest Enquiry as the Recommendation subjoined
"will prove

"If therefore I should be so favord as to
"receive Your Worships Appointment I will
"Discharge the Duties of the Office to the best of my
"ability,
