January 1798.

A Bill of Mary Atkins< no role > for Coffins & Shrouds
for Prisoners who have died in the said Prison
from the 7th. day of February 1794. to the 9th. day of March
last Amounting to£4..14s..6d.

A Bill of Thomas Aris< no role > Governor of the New House
of Correction at Clerkenwell in this County for Monies
paid by him for the Interment of Prisoners who
have died in the said Prison from the 26th. day of
November 1794 to the 27th. day of December last amg. to} £4..7s..6d

A Bill of the said Thomas Aris< no role > for Money paid
by him for sundry necessary Articles for the use
of the said Prison in the Years 1794. 1795. 1796 &
1797. Amounting to} £76.. .. 7d..

A Bill of Richard Mills< no role > for Floor Cloth delivered by
him at the Session house for this County for the use
of the Housekeepers Apartments there in the Year
1797. Amounting to} £4..14s..6d.

£2364..3s..6¼d

That the whole of these Demands amount to the Sum of
£2364..13..6¼ and the Charges in the said several Bills and
Demand's appearing to Your Committee to be just and true It
is their Opinion that the same ought forthwith to be Paid.

All which the Committee Submit Etc.

Resolved That the said Report be Received and
Confirmed and that the Clerk of the peace do issue the usual
Orders upon the Treasurer of the County for payment of the
several Sums therein mentioned amounting together to the
Sum of £2364..13..6¼.

By adjournment same Day.

Resolved That the Prison Committee do draw up a
Representation of the State of the Prison of Newgate and that the
same be laid before this Court.
