June 1795.

"The Clerk laid before the Meeting the following Order of reference
"received by him from the Clerk of the Peace for the said County and the
"same was read Vizt.

"Middlesex At the General Session of the Peace of our Lord the King
"holden in and for the County of Middlesex at the Session
"House for the said County (by adjournment) on Thursday the
"Twenty first day of May in the Thirty fifth year of the Reign
"of our Sovereign Lord George the third King of Great Britain Etc.

"The Clerk of the Peace having (Pursuant to the standing Order of this
"Court) Reported that Samuel Bridgman< no role > Gent , High Constable of Finsbury
"Division in this County had continued in the said Office Three Years
"Ordered that Notice hereof be given to His Majestys Justices of the Peace for
"this County residing and acting in and for the said Division to nominate
"some fit Person to the next General Quarter Session of the Peace to serve the
"said Office.

"The following Petition and Recommendation thereof was laid
"before the Meeting andalsoRead Vizt.

20th. June 1795.

"Worshipful Gentleman

" I take the Liberty of respectfully offering myself for your
"Approbation in the present occasion as a Candidate for the Office of High
"Constable for Finsbury Division in the County of Middlesex , I beg
"leave humbly to represent to your Worships that I am by Trade a
"Silversmith and have been an Housekeeper in Goswell Street in the Liberty
"of Glass House yard in the said Division upwards of Seventeen years, have
"served the said Office of Constable and am now Sidesman to the Church
"Wardens for the said Liberty. I flatter myself that my Character will
"bear the strictest enquiry as the Recommendation subjoined hereto will
"prove, And I trust that I have a thorough knowledge of the Duties of
"the Office I sollicit.
