May 1795.

With great satisfaction have noticed the Prisoner's decent behaviour
at Chapel, to the Prayers and to the good Admonition delivr'd from the
Discourse of The Revd. Mr.Owen.

Resolved that the Franks of the Court be given to Rupert
Clarke Esqr . for his care and attention to the New House of Correction during
the time of his acting as a visiting Justice there and that Nathaniel
Conant
< no role > Esqr . be appointed a visiting Magistrate in his stead.

By Adjournment same day.

The Clerk of the Peace having in pursuance to the Standing
Orders of the Court Reported that Samuel Bridgman< no role > Gent High Constable
of Finsbury Division in this County had continued in the said Office Three
years Ordered that Notice hereof be given to His Majestys Justices
of the Peace for this County residing and acting in and for the said Division
to nominate some fit Person to the next General Quarter Session of the
Peace to serve the said Office.

By Adjournment same day.

The Clerk of the Peace having communicated to the Court that
Notice had been received from the Westminster Fire Office that the Policy
for the Insurance of the Session House was expired. Ordered that the
Session House be Insured and that the Name of The Revd. Samuel Glasse< no role >
DD. be inserted in the Policy in the stead of Thomas Gordon< no role > Esqr and
that the County Treasurer do pay the Expence of such Insurance.

The Revd. Dr. Glasse Chairman of the House of Correction
Committee Reported to the Court Hurt in pursuance of the referrence
made at the last session the Committee had inquired into the
Allegations contained in the Petition of Joseph Wood< no role > the Elder & Joseph
Wood the younger Contractors for performing the Carpenters Work at the
House of Correction and were of Opinion that the said Joseph Wood< no role > the Elder
and Joseph Wood< no role > the younger ought to be Allowed the Sum of £172..5..10
prayed for by the said Petition.
