May 1795.

That the said Committee had also inquired into the
Application made by Walter Hattam the Contractor for performing the
Smiths Work at the said House of Correction and were of Opinion that
the said Walter Haltam< no role > ought to be allowed the Sum of £107..1..0 for
the advance of 2sh P Ct upon 63Tons..10C..1f..26lbs of Cast Iron & £51..6..6
for the advance of 1s/6d. P C. upon 20Tons..10C..2f..12lbs of Wrought Iron
used by him at the said House of Correction and that the said Walter
Hattam ought not to be Allowed any of the other Charges prayed for by him.

That the said Committee had also inquired into the Petition
presented by Robert Mc Intosh< no role > the Contractor for performing the Slaters
Work at the said House of Correction Resolved that there did not
appear any sufficient reasons for allowing the said Robert Mc Intosh the
Sum prayed for by his Petition.

Resolved that this Court do appear of the said Report
and do ratify and confirm the same. And It is Ordered
that Mr Hinley the Treasurer of the Monies received for defraying the
Expence of building the said House of Correction. do pay unto the said
Joseph Wood< no role > the Elder and Joseph Wood< no role > the younger the Sum of
£172..5..10 and to the said Walter Hattam the several Sums of
£107..1..0 and £51..6..6 as recommended by the said Committee.

By Adjournment same day

The Court having taken into consideration the situation of
the House designed for the residence of the Governor and being of
Opinion that the same is not conveniently situated and does not
contain sufficient Rooms and Accommodations and being also of
opinion that the House for the residence of the Governor should adjoin
to or be near the outward Wall of the Prison and that he should
have a private door through the same. Resolved that the
Building committee do take into consideration whether the House
occupied by the Labourer in Trust can be made fit and convenient
