Resolved that the same be referred to the consideration of
the Committee for building the New House of Correction in Cold Bath
fields to report their Opinion thereon to the Court.

The following Petition of Joseph Wood< no role > the Elder and Joseph
Wood the yor. being laid before the Court and read in the following
Words Vizt.

To His Majestys Justices of the Peace for the County of Middlesex

The Humble Petition of Joseph Wood< no role > the Elder
and Joseph Wood< no role > the younger of Cow Cross Street in
the Parish of Saint Sepulchre in the said County
Carpenters and Builders.

Sheweth

That in February 1788 your Petitioners Contracted to
perform the Carpenters and Joiners Work in building the New House
of Correction for the County of Middlesex .

That in the Printed Particulars in the Book of Drawings
of the said House of Correction it is directed in the first year the frenches
should be dug, the Foundations of the Boundary Wall and of all the
Cow Buildings, and the Boundary Wall Eight Feet above the ground line
and to the heighth of the Springing of the Arches of the Ground Story to
Principal Building and Infirmary should be built; that in the second
year the remaining part of the Boundary Wall, all the low buildings
the remaining part of the Ground Story of the Principal Building and
Infirmary (except the Groins thereof) and all the first story of the
