2dly. in respect to the County Estate

It appears that the Accounts of Mr. Benson as
Receiver of the Rents thereof was audited the 5th.
day of December 1783 when there remained in
his hands a Balance of} £2..9s..11d

That he has since received half a Years
rent of the Quakers to Michaelmas 1783...} £21..0s..0d

That he has also since received for Rent of
the Tap at New Prison upto Michaelmas 1784} £45..0s..0d

That these Receipts amount to£68..9s..11d
That there hath been paid out of the same£3..6s..-

That there remains in the hands of the legal representative
of Mr Banson a Ballance due to the County Stock in
respect to the County Estate of£65..3s..11d

It appears that the Quakers owe for the Premises which
they hold of the County One Year and an halfs Rent to Christmas
1784.

It also appears by a Memorandum in the hand
Writing of Mr Benson that he hath not received any Rent for the
Tap at the House of Correction at Clerkenwell since Michaelmas
1782 and by the examination of Mr. Gibbs late the Widow of Mr.
Thomas Harwood< no role > Keeper of the said Tap it appears that Mr.
Harwood paid Rent to Mr. Crozier the then Governor of the said
House of Correction to Christmas 1782 but since that time no Rent
hath been paid That Mrs Harwood continued in the house till
March last but that before Christmas 1782 the business of serving
the Prison was stopped That Mr Harwood in December 1782
Petitioned the Court in consequence whereof the Rent was reduced
to £15 a Year to commence from Christmas 1782 That little or
no business was done at the Tap after that time and for Three
Months before last March the time when Mr Harwood left
the house no business whatsoever was carried on.
