It further appears to Your Committee by an Order
of Court bearing date the 22d. day of October 1778 that the Governour
of the House of Correction was allowed the Sum of £50 P annum for
the Extra Care and Trouble brought upon him in consequence of
an Act of Parliament made and passed in the Sixteenth Year of
his present Majestys Reign entitled "An Act to authorise
for a limited time the punishment by hard labour of Offenders
who for certain Crimes are or shall become liable to be Transported
to any of His Majestys Colonies and Plantations" but this Allow-
ance Mr Harwood hath not received

Upon the whole therefore it appears to Your
Committee That the Receipts of the Governour of the House of
Correction for one Year ending the 2d. day of March 1784 are
as follows Vizt.

Copies of Commitments£7..1s..4d

Profit by Work within the Year provided that the
Court shall be of Opinion the Expenditures for Beds
Coverlids Etc be not taken out of the Profits arising by
labour and which the Committee earnestly recommend}£37..6s..9d
