His Majesty's Justices of the peace now proceeded to Ballot, and the
Ballot continuing till the hour of four and being then closed
Upon Examination of the Ballot It appeared that 59 of his Majestys
Justices of the Peace for the County of Middlesex or City and Liberty of Westminster
had Voted of which Number there appeared for Mr Peter Stocken< no role > 46
for Mr Holdsworth 1 for Mr John Woodward< no role > 12 whereupon a
Motion was made that Mr Peter Stocken< no role > is duly elected and the
same being agreed to It is resolved that Mr Peter Stocken< no role > is duly
Elected Collector of the Tolls of the St James's Haymarket

A Motion was made that Mr Stocken be called in and
acquainted with his Election which being agreed to Mr Stocken
was called in accordingly and the Chairman having informed him
of his Election gave him a charge for the due observance of the Duties
of his Office

Ordered that all Books papers and other documents respecting
the Receipt of the Tolls for and entries of the Sale of Hay and Shaw
in the St James Haymarket late in the possesion of Mr Stephen
Weaver
< no role > the late Collector thereof be forthwith delivered to Mr Peter
Stocken
< no role > the present Collector of the Tolls Etc of the St James's Haymarket
for the use of his Majesty's Justices of the Peace for the County of Middlesex
and for the City and Liberty of Westminster

Mr Eyles the Treasurer of the St James's Haymarket laid before
the Court an Account of his Receipts and disbursements as Treasurer
aforesaid whereby it appeared that from the Ninth day of July
1777-he had received the Sum of £1230..10..5
That within the same time he has paid the Sum of £7053..5
and that there now remains in his Hands
the Sum of £525..7..
