A Motion was then made that the following Words to be added
after the word Year in the Original motion vizt "It appearing to [..]
Court by the report of a Committee to whom the matter had been
referred and which report was confirmed by the Sessions for Middlesex
and Westminster holden in July 1776 to be a proper allowance
for executing the Office do stand part of the motion and the
Question being put it passed in the affirmative nomine contract"
The Question was now put upon the first amendment vizt that the
Word Seventy stand part of the motion and the same being
agreed to the Question was put upon the original Motion so [..]
andto wit

That the Salary be seventy
pounds a year It appearing
to this Court by the report of
a Committee to whom the
matter had been referred and
which report was confirmed
by the Sessions for Middlesex
and Westminster holden in
July 1776 to be a proper
allowance for executing the
Office

It passed in the affirmative

A Motion was now made that the Candidates be called in which
being agreed to The Candidates were called and being present

The following Questions were put to Mr Stocken to which he [..]
the answers subjoined to the said respective Questions

Q Does Mr Stocken mean to execute the Office by himself with the
Assistance of a Clerk or by Deputy?

A With the assistance of a Deputy but thatI mean to inspect the Acc [..]
and return them myself

Q Does he mean to attend the Haymarket the three Market Days
or Not?

A I cannot

The following Question was put to Mr Holdsworth to which
he returned the answer subjoined

Q Does Mr Holdsworth mean to attend the Haymarket the three
Market days or not?

A Yes Personally

The Candidates were ordered to withdraw and being withdraw [..]
A Motion was made that the CountyCourts do now proceed to by Ballot for to [..]
Election of a Collector of the Tolls of the St James's Haymarket
which being agreed to a Motion was made that the Ballot sh [..]
close at the hour of four of this day-Agreed to
