third King of Great Britain Etc and in the year of our Lord
one thousand seven hundred and seventy nine
It appearing upon Oath before us the Grand Jury
aforesaid whose Names are hereunto set and subscribed that a
certain Publick Bridge called Brentford Bridge
situate standing
and being across and over a certain River called the Brent within
the parishes of Hanwell
and Isleworth
in the County of Middlesex
aforesaid is out of Repair for want of due Reparation of the same
and it is now necessary that the same be immediately repaired the
foot pavements the Walls and Copings and the posts and Rails
belonging to the said Bridge being in an insufficient State and the
Wooden Floor and the posts and Rails of the foot Bridge on the
South side of the said Bridge being likewise greatly decayed
And that the said Bridge hath been heretofore usually repaired
and maintained at the charge and expence of the Inhabitants
of the said County of Middlesex
and therefore We Present
that the said Bridge called Brentford Bridge
is a publick County
Bridge and now is and for some time past has been out of
repair and in want of Reparation and that the said Bridge
ought forthwith to be repaired by the said Inhabitants of the said
County of Middlesex
