And the said Report being read Article by Article It
is Ordered that so mush of the said Report as respects the Claim of the said
Richard Akerman< no role > This name instance is in set 4413. under the Act of the 16th. of his present Majesty be and the
same is hereby Confirmed And it is also Ordered that so much of the
said Report as respects the demand of the said Richard Akerman< no role > under the
Act of the 14th. Year of the Reign of his present Majesty be and the same is hereby
approved And it is further Ordered that the Treasurer of this County do
refuse to pay the said demand and that if Mr. Akerman shall proceed by
legal proofs to compel him thereto the Treasurer do defend such refusal and
that a Copy of this Resolution be given to Mr. Akerman

Ordered that the said Committee have leave to sit again in
further Execution of their reference and that the Treasurer do take his Instructions
in defence of the said Demand from the said Committee

Ordered that the Treasurer do immediately apply to the
Sollicitor General Edward Bearcroft< no role > Esquire and John Dunning< no role > Esquire
and Retain them of Counsel on his behalf

By adjournment same day

The following Petition from Mr. Richard Bond< no role > Keeper
of the Tap at New Prison at Clerkenwell being laid before this Court Vizt.

To His Majestys Justices of the Peace for the County of
Middlesex in their General Quarter Session of the peace assembled

The Humble Petition of Richard Bond< no role >
Keeper of the Tap at New Prison

Sheweth

That on the Twenty fifth day of March 1775 Your
Petitioner took of his Majestys Justices of the peace for this County the Tap
at New Prison to hold the same at Will at the annual Rent of Thirty Pounds

That he has Constantly conformed to the instructions
which he then received from the Justices and has supplied the prisoners with
Hands and Liqours both good in Quality and Quantity and at a fair and
reasonable price

That since the Commencement of the present
War with france but more Especially during the Operation of the Act for
Recruiting his Majestys Land and Marine forces the profits of the
Tap have decreased in the proportion of Two thirds and the Taxes which
Your petitioner pays for it are become extreamly heavy so that Your
Petitioner now finds himself unable out of the present income from the Tap
to pay to the County so high a Rent as £30. a Year without prejudice to his
private fortune and injury to his Young family
