The following Summons under the Hand writing of the said

being laid before your Committee vizt
Margaret Street Cavendish Square
Middlesex

to wit

of Finchely
These are in his Majesty's name to require You
personally to be and appear before me John Gretton< no role >
Esquire
one
of his Majesty's Justices of the Peace
for the said County Etc At my
House in Margaret Street aforesaid on Thursday next at twelve
o' Clock at noon then and there to shew cause and Answer the
Complaint of Alexr Phillips< no role >
for unlawfully using your Carton
Sunday the 9th day of November in the parish of Saint Mary
Islington contrary to the Statute Etc
Hereof fail not at your Peril Given under my hand and Seal
this 10th day of Novr one thousand seven hundred and seventy
Seven
No if you do not attend this Summons the Magistrate will
issue a Warrant for Contempt
It appeared to your Committee that the said Summons was
sent by the penny Post to Mr Dixon who attended the said
Justice on the 13th November pursuant to the same and paid a
penalty to ten Shillings and six pence together with two Shillings
and six pence Office Fees which Fees yours Committee are of opinion
are illegal and oppressive
