By adjournment 10th April 1777

The Chairman reported that he had waited on his Grace the Duke of No [..]
-berland pursuant on to the Order made at the last Session to request His [..]
Graces permission for his Majestys Justices of the peace for this Cou [..]
to hold their Sessions at the Guildhall in King Street Westminster [..]
that his Grace was pleased to grant the request and to permit the
Justices to hold their Sessions at the Guildhall aforesaid as a temp [..]
convenience and until the Justices could accommodate themselves
more satisfactorily

Whereupon it [..] was resolved that the thanks of this C [..]
be returned to his Grace the Duke of Northumberland Custos Retu [..]
of the County of Middlesex for his Obliging Conduct in permitting [..]
Majestys Justices of the peace for the said County to hold their Sess [..]
at the Guildhall Westminster and the same was unanimously ag [..]
to and ordered accordingly

A Motion was made that his Grace the Duke of
Northumberland as Custos Retulorum of the County of Middlesex
be desired to call a meeting of all the Gentleman who are named
the Commission of the peace for the said County to consider whether i [..]
not become necessary from the presents ruinous condition of Hicks
Hall to apply to Parliaments for an Act to Enable them to build an
Session house and the same was agreed to unanimously, and it was
resolved that the Chairman attended by the Clerk of the peace be
requested to wait upon His Grace for that purpose
