February 1776

the St. James's Haymarket It is Ordered that the
Committee appointed on the 12th. day of January 1775 to oppose all
attempts in Parliament that may affect the Interest of this
County in the St. James Haymarket or deprive the Justices
of their Controul which for the benefit of the Pubblic they have over
the Same and to give such orders as may be necessary to
enforce the Laws relative thereto do meet on Tuesday next
the 27th. Instant at Hicks Hall at Eleven o Clock in the forenoon
and that they do meet and adjourn at pleasure and it is
recommended to them to pursue the Speediest and most
effectual methods to promote and Secure the Interest of the
County on the St. James Haymarket against the present
Intentions of the Commissioners for paving Westminster

The Revd. Sir George Booth< no role > Baronet one of his Majestys Justices
of the peace for this County in his place informed this Court that
the Haymarket Committee were not yet prepared to make a
report of their Proceedings under the several orders of reference
to them given Whereupon it is ordered that the Haymarket
Committtee do proceed under the several orders of reference
to them given and further time is hereby given to the said
Committee for their said Report Ordered that Richard Paul
Jodrell
< no role > Esquire one of his Majestys Justices of the Peace for
this County be summoned of the Haymarket Committee as a
member thereof

The deputy Clerk of the Peace laid before that Court
the following Letter which had been put into his Hands on the
first day of this Session and the same being read as follows
