what pecuniary compensation shall be made to Messrs. Scott and Palmer
for their Trouble as aforesaid And the Committee are hereby empowered to
order the payment of the same

By adjournment same day

Whereas at the General Session of the peace holden for this County by
adjournment on Friday the Seventeenth of September last a report
being made from the Committee appointed to carry into Execution the repair
of New Prison and Clerkenwell Bridewell in which it appearing that
a Smelting House had lately been Erected on the East Boundary Wall
belonging to the County Estate at Clerkenwell which Erection was an
Encroachment It was then Ordered by the Court that the proprietor
thereof should have notice given him by the Clerk of the peace to remove the
same New the Clerk of the peace reporting that he had given notice to the
proprietor of the said Building accordingly and that he has received a
memorial from Mr. Crawford the proprietor of the said Building
regarding the same It is Ordered that the said Memorial and the
further consideration of what shall be necessary to be done in respect to the
said Wall be and the same is hereby referred to the said Committee

By adjournment same day

Whereas the Deputy Clerk of the peace acquainted the Court that the
Policy of Insurance against Accidents by fire at Hicks Hall had
expired and that it does not appear whether the House of Correction
at Clerkenwell or New Prison is Insured It is Ordered that it
be and the same is hereby referred to the Committee appointed to carry
into immediate Execution the Repair of New Prison and Clerkenwell
Bridewell to Examine whether all or any of the said Buildings are
Insured from Five and if not where, in what Sums and for what
time the said Buildings ought respectively to be Insured
