Pave the said Bridge with Pebble Stones in a Substantial and
Workmanlike Manner And that after the said John Wilkins< no role >
had paved the said Bridge with Pebble Stones He the said John
Wilkins was to support maintain and Keep the said Bridge
in good and Substantial Repair for the Term of Three Years
then next Ensuing without any Sum or Sums of Money Gratu-
ity fee or reward What so ever and that after the End & Expiration
of the said Term of three Years it was Agreed by and between
the said John Wilkins< no role > and the said Sir Joseph Ayloff< no role > Houlding
and James Clitherow< no role > that the said John Wilkins< no role > should repair
Maintain and keep the said Bridge in good and Substantial Repair
And that he should be paid by the Inhabitants of the said County
of Middlesex twenty Shillings per Annum for every hundred
Yards of Paving which should belong to the said Bridge to be
Repaired And whereas the said John Wilkins< no role > did pave all the
said Bridge with Pebble Stones in a Substantial and Workman like
Manner and was paid out of the County Rate raised on the
Inhabitants of the said County of Middlesex the Sum of Two
Hundred Twenty Eight Pounds Nineteen Shillings and ten Pence
and the said John Wilkins< no role > Did Support maintain and Keep the
said Pavement of the said Bridge in Good and Substantial
repair during all the said Term of three Years without any Sum
or Sums of Money fee Gratuity or Reward whatsoever Which
said Term of Three Years Expired at Michaelmas one thousand
Seven hundred and forty five and that upon a just Measurement
of the said pasing belonging to the said Bridge there is Nine
Hundred and Old Yards Which will require from time to time
to be paved And Whereas the said John Wilkins< no role > did on the
Sixteenth day of March in the Year of Our Lord one thousand
Seven hundred and forty Six Enter into Articles with Thomas
Lane John Milner< no role > George Cooke< no role > James Clitherow< no role > Stephen
Beckingham and Bolton Mainwaring< no role > Esquires Six of
His Majesty's Justices of the Peace of the County of Middlesex
to keep the said Bridge in Repair for the Term of Eleven Years
And the said John Wilkins< no role > was to receive the sum of nine Pounds
Yearly in every Year for Keeping the said Bridge in repair
And Whereas the said Term of Eleven Years Expired On the
twenty Ninth Day of September one thousand Seven hundred
