Committees Report.
of Mr Higgs Accots.

Inpursuance of the Order here into Annexed We whose hands are hereunto set
being a Quorum of his majestys Justices of the Peace Appointed by the sd. Order have
Inspected and persued the Account of Mr. Higgs Treasurer of the last County Rate
made in September Session 1761 and we do Certifyd that by the Ballance of the
precedent rate and the Arrears of that rate with the £1200. this present Rate the whole
Amounts to the Sum of £1258..5..8. And that he has paid and Disbursed there out the Sum
of £1223..8..4½ and that the ballance remaning in Mr Higgs hands is £37..17..3½
and your committed are of Opinion [..] other Rate should be made for the raising
of Money to answer the Ends and [..] oscs of Passing Vagrants paying for Bread for
the Prisoners in the house of Conection The Keepers of the Goals Salarys The Coroners
Fees for taking Inquisitions or Dead Bodys The Prosecution of Felons and for other
Purposes and of our Committee have inspected the Rents of the County Estate since the
Last And it which was or the 10th day of September 1..61. And it appears that the
Ballance of that account in Mr Higgs hands was 2d 40..13..3½ And that he has
received for rent since due to Lady day last £42. And of Mr. White Housekeper of
Hicks Hall for one years Acknowledgment of the House of Hicks Hall due at Christmas
last 6s..8d making together the Sumd £02..19..11½ and that he has paid and Disbursed
thereout the Sum of £72..4..1½ and that the Ballance remaining in Mr. Higgs hands is
£10..15..10.All is which we Submit Dated this 6th. day of December 1762

It is Order by this Court that it be and it is hereby recommended and referred to
George Errington< no role > Bartholomew Hammond< no role > Francis Bedwell< no role > and George Greene< no role > Esquires his
Majesty's Justices of the Peace for this County and such other Justices of the Peace of the said
County as will please to be present or any three or more of them as a Committee to meet
together at Hicks Hall aforesaid on Monday the Sixth day of December next at Nine of the Clock
in the Morning to Inspect and And it the Account of Mr: John Higgs< no role > touching the Monics
received by him as Treasurer of this County and of his Disbursements out of the same And also
to Inspect his Account of what Sum and Sums of Money he hath received and of whom for
the Rents of the Estate belonging to this County and how the same or any part thereof hath
been Applied and Disposed of and the sd. Committee one Desired to make their report touching
the Promisses to the Court of the next General Session of the Peace to be holden for this
County on the County day of the same Session

The abovementioned Report is in all Things confirmed and a New
County Rate is ordered, which follows.
