By Adjournment on Thursday the 14th. Day of April 1743 .

Resolved


Resolution of the
Court of Quarter
Sessions concerning
the Retailers of
Spirituous Liquors}

That it be and it is recommended to the Justices of the peace in every
Division in this County that they do not Licence any Tavern Inn
Coffee house Victualling house or Ale house to Sell by Retail Brandy
or other Spirituous Liquors but where actually a Tevern Inn
Coffee house Victualling house or Ale house was kept on or before
the 25th. Day of March lastpastAnd that they do endeavour to
suppress every publick House where any persons have been Guilty
of the vice of Drunkenness or other Offences prohibited by the several
Laws now in being And that it be recommended to them that they do
call before them the High Constables and petty Constables and all
other Officers under their direction and give them the Strictest Orders
not to suffer any persons to Sell Spirituous Liquors in the Streets
or other prohibited places and to be very Industrious in discovering
apprehending and bringing to punishment all persons Guilty of the
said vice of Drunkenness and all other Offences prohibited by
the said Laws.

Order appointing a
Committee for
taking a view of
such part of
Chertsea Bridge
as is in Middx Etc.}

Information being given unto this that such part of a publick Bridge called
Chertsea Bridge as is in the County of Middx is in great decay for want
of repair insomuch that it is necessary that the same should be rebuilt
It is Ordered by this Court that it be And it is hereby recommended &
referred into Sr. Thomas Reynell< no role > Bart . Nicholas Jeffreys< no role > James
Clitherow
< no role > Richard Bulstrode< no role > Jacob Harvey< no role > Robert Hinde< no role > Richard
Ricards & John Elliott< no role > This name instance is in set 3963. Esquires Justices of the peace of the said
County or any three or more of them as a Committee to meet together
at a House called on known by the Name or Sign of the Swan
(on Middx Side) near Chertsea Bridge aforesaid on Fryday the
twenty Second Day of April Instant at Eleven of the Clock in
the forenoon and at such other times and places as they shall
appoint And to take to their Assistance such proper Surveyor
or other Workman as they shall think fitt and to take a view of
such part of Chertsea Bridge aforesaid as is in this County and to
see if the same is out of repair, And if it shall appear upon
such view that the aforesaid part of Chertsea Bridge which is
in this County or any part of the same is out of repair Then to
take an Account in Writing of what repaires are wanting and
necessary to be done thereto and if the same can be sufficiently
repaired or whether there be a necessity of rebuilding the
aforesaid
