By Adjournment on Thursday the fifteenth Day
of October1741

An Order for Mr Higgs the
Treaser to pay £20.10s.8d to the
Clerk of the Peace or his Deputy
on Accot. of moneys due to him
upon the Callendars from Mr
Croswell deced late Keeper of ye
House of Corr: at Clerkenwell , £1
for Beatles handcuffs & Keys to be
delivered to the present Keeper
78.2.9 to Mr Chilton one of the
Execl. of the sd. Mr Croswell, and
22.1.2 to the Representatives of
Mr Brett Deced late Keeper of ye
House of Corr: at Westmr. for pas-
-sing & releiving Vagabonds.

Whereas Nicholas Jeffreys< no role > John Poulson< no role > Nathaniel Chan< no role >
-dler & George Tarry< no role > Esquires being a Quorum of his Majes-
-ty's Justices of the Peace appointed by an Order of General
Sessions of the Peace for this County of the twenty sixth day
of February last to peruse & inspect the accounts of Peter
Creswell late Keeper of the House of Correction at Clerken-
-well & Walter Brett< no role > Keeper of the House of Correction at
Westminster for passing & releiving of vagabonds have
made their Report unto this Court whereby they certify
That they having perused the accounts and inspected the
vagrant Passes and the recepts for the said vagrants of the said
late Peter Creswell< no role > from the fourth day of November last to
the time of his Death which was about the fourteenth day
of April following and upon reasonable allowance the
whole doth amount unto the Sum of Ninety nine Pounds
thirteen Shillings and five Pence, But that they find that in
the said Account the Receipts for the Vagrants for about twelve
Shillings are either left mislaid or no Receipts given for the
said Vagrants, And that no Certificates were produced for two
Vagrants which amount unto the Sum of seven Shillings
and Six pence which were likewise lost or mislaid, which two
Sums amount unto Nineteen shillings and six pence which
the Committee thought reasonable to allow, where no Receipts
were produced the Certificates were produced and where no Cer
-tificates were produced the Receipts for the Vagrants were pro
-duced, Therefore the Committee leaves to the Judgement of the
Court to allow or disallow the same, And that in Pursuance
to an Order of General Sessions of the Peace for this County of
the fifteenth day of May now last the Committee proceeded
to take an Account of what money had been reced by the said
late Peter Creswell< no role > for the Use of Peter Walter< no role > Esquire Clerk of
the peace of the said County, And Mr Wilkinson producing an
Account, and it appearing by the Callendars for several Years
last past that the said Peter Creswell< no role > had reced for the Use of
the
