demand, unto the Said Samuel Richardson< no role > the Sum of two
pounds and two Shillings being the remainder of his Said
money in full of his Said demand, unto the Said William
Martin the Sum of two pounds ten Shillings and ten pence
halfpenny being the remainder of his Said money in full
of his Said demand, and unto the Said Samuel Tull< no role > the Sum
of Seven Shillings and ten pence halfpenny being the
remainder of his Said money in full of his Said demand,
And that the receipts of the Said respective persons together with
this Order Shall be Sufficient discharges to the Said Treasurer
for Such respective payments.

By Adjornmt. on Thursday the 26th. day of February 1740

Order concerning
Brentford Bridge .}

Mr. Charles Marquand an Engineer or Artificer now
attending this Court in Order to treat concerning the
rebuilding a publick Bridge called Brentford Bridge in this
County, which this Court at a former Sessions resolved should
be rebuilt with brick and Stone according to a plan or Design
of Mr. Charles Labelye an Engineer who had been employed
to prepare plans & proposalls for building he Said Bridge
And It being now represented unto this Court that there
would be a necessity of having a temporary Bridge to be
erected over the River Brent for horses, coaches carts and
carriages and also Foot Passengers to pass over the said
River whilst the Said publick Bridge was rebuilding, the Said
Charles Marquand made a proposall to this Court
concerning the erecting Such temporary Bridge, And did
thereupon make an agreement in writing and Subscribed
his Name thereunto, which is as followeth - J Charles
Marquand [..]
[..] do agree and consent to erect & build a
temporary Bridge at Brentford for the conveniency of his
Majesty' s Subjects to pass & repass with coaches, carts, horses
& carriages, And agree and consent that after the Same
shall be built to be measured & valued by two proper Judges
to be the Sen by the Comittee of Justices to inspect the accounts
of the County, And what the Said two proper Judges shall
value the Said temporary Bridge to be worth I do agree to
take So much & no more within Six months after the
Same be built and passable, And I do agree to allow for
the timber of the Said temporary Bridge So much money
as the Said two Judges shall value the Same at when the
Same shall be disused, which money Shall be decucted
