Certify That they having examined Several credible persons
upon Oath It appeared unto them the Said Jurors And they did
accordingly upon their Oath present That a certain publick
Bridge called Brentford Bridge in the County aforesaid (which
had been then to fore usually rebuilt repaired & maintained
at the charge of the Inhabitants of the Said County) was then
very much out of repair, And that it was necessary that the
Said Bridge Should be forthwith repaired or rebuilt, And that
Such part of another publick Bridge called Chertsea Bridge as
is in the Same County (which part of the Same Bridge had
been then to fore usually rebuilt repaired and maintained
at the charge of the Inhabitants of the Said County) was then
also very much out of repairer and that it was necessary that
the aforesaid part of the Same Bridge Should be also forthwith
repaired or rebuilt, And Whereas at the Same Session of the
peace holden by adjornment at Hicks Hall aforesaid in and for
the Said County on the Said Sixteenth day of October last before the
Justices last named and other their Fellows aforesaid another
presentment was made by the Said Jurors Sworn & charged as
aforesaid whereby they certifyed that they having viewed &
Examined a certain prison called the House of Correction at
Clerkenwell in the Said County It appeared unto them the
Said Jurous And they did accordingly upon their oath present
that the Said prison was then very much out of repair, And
that it was necessary that the Said Prison Should be forthwith
repaired, And whereas the consideration of the Said respective
presentments was adjourned by the Court of the Said last Session
untill this present General Session of the peace for this County
Now upon reading the Said presentments at this present Session
and on consideration had of the Same And For that the Said Bridges
& House of Correction [..] have from the time of making the
Said Presentments continued and do Still continue in a
ruinous condition And For as much as it appeareth to this
Court that it is necessary that a Rate Should be made upon the
Towns, parishes & places in the Said County for raiseing of
moneys for the repairing or rebuilding of Brentford Bridge ,
and for the repairing the aforesaid part of Chertsea Bridge ,
and also the Said House of Correction , and for the other purposes
mentioned in an Act of Parliament made in the twelfth year
of the reign of our Sovereign Lord King George the Second,
Intituled, An Act of Parliament for the more easy assessing
