Shall be nearest to where Such Straggling Seamen Shall be first
taken up, that So they may be put on board Such of His Majesty< no role > 's
Ships or Vessels as will be appointed to receive them, And the persons
who Shall be entrusted with the conducted them are to be
paid Such Sums of money as in the Said Letter are Specified,
His Majesty< no role > 's Justices of the Peace for this County now
assembled at the Special Sessions above mentioned upon
reading the aforesaid Letter Do Order That It be, And It is hereby
recomended unto His Majesty< no role > 's Justices of the peace for this
County residing in the respective Divisions in the Said County
forthwith to hold petty Sessions or meet together from time to
time within their respective Divisions as often as they Shall
think proper, And to order, transact, and do what may best
answer the intent of the aforesaid Letter from the Lords of the
Privy Council, For which purpose Copies of the Said Letter and
of this Order are to be Sent to every Division in this County, And
It is hereby also recomended unto the Said Justices of the peace
in their respective Divisions to inquire & examine if any
Captains , Lieutents. or other Officers have refused to receive
any Seamen or able Bodyed Men Sent to them by any
Justices or Justice of the peace, and which they have
afterwards impressed or received into the Kings Service
when taken up a Second time by the Press Gang, and to
take Affidts. for that purpose, And to transmitt the Same
with all conveinent Speed to his grace the Duke of
New castle to the intent his grace may have an account
of Such Captains Lieutenants or other Officers who Shall
behave themselves in Such irreguler manner.
