for his great Services}

His Majesty< no role > 's Justices of the peace for the County of Middx now
assembled at this present General Sessions of the peace holden
for the Said County Do Order that their thanks be and they are
here by given unto Edward Barker< no role > Esqr . Chairman of this
Court for the great Services by him done to the Said County
in his prudent administration of Justice.

Lane Esqr. to be Chairman
of the Court in the Stead of
Edwd. Barker< no role > Esqr .}

His Majesty< no role > 's Justices of the peace for the County of Middx
now assembled at this present General Sessions of the peace
holden for the Said County Do unanimously elect Thomas
Lane Esquire to be Chairman of the General Quarter and
General Sessions of the peace to be holden for the Same
County between Easter one thousand Seven hundred and
thirty eight and Michaelmas then next following in the
Stead & place of Edward Barker< no role > Esqr . the present Chairman.

Whereas the right honble. George Lord Carpenter< no role > of the
Kingdom of Ireland John Milner< no role > Thomas Lane< no role >
Robert Hucks< no role > & Nathaniel Blackerby< no role > Esquires being
a Quorum of the Committee of his Majesties Justices
of the peace for the County of Middx (to whom,
amongst others, It was referred by an Order of the
Court of General Quarter Sessions of the peace holden
for the Same County by adjornment on Thursday the
thirteenth day of October in the eleventh year of the
reign of his present Matie King George the Second
to assemble & meet together, and examin what
money had been advanced & paid by the Justices of
the peace of this County on account of defraying
the expence in & about making the defence to the
allegations contained in the petition of complaint
presented to the honble. House of Commons against
the Justices of the peace for this County, and to
