five hundred pounds to Edward Barker< no role > William Cowper< no role > &
John Cross< no role > Esqrs . three of his Maties Justices of the peace for
the Said County for the due performance of his Said Office,
and keeping the goods of the Said County, and that the
Said House of Hicks hall had noe Body to dwell in it for
many yeares last past So that for want of due looking
after and fires constantly kept in the Same the Said House
is in a Very bad & ruinous Condition, and there wants
Several necessary repairs to be done in & a bout the Same,
which is not Soon doue will reduce the Said House in a
for worse condition, and that the petr. hath had all the
windows of the Said House cleaned and a great many
panes of Glass (that were Croke) put in, which were
Croke before the petr. took possession of the Said House,
and hath done Several other things necessary about
the Said House, which hath cest the petr. upwards of
thirty Shillings, and that the petr. hath had above &
experienced workmen to inspect & view the Said House
and by estimation they doe compute that the necessary
repairs wanting in & about the Said House will
amount to about thirty pounds, and that the Umbrellas
belonging to the Great Room at Hicks hall are rotted
to peices and cannot be put up any more, and the petr.
prayed that this Court would take the premisses into
consideration, and Order the Said House to be repaired in
Such manner as to this Court Should Seem meet that the
petr. may keep the Same in repaire for & during Such
time as he Shall continue in his Said Office And that
this Court would be pleased to Order the Petr. to be
repaid what money he hath already expended & laid
out for cleaning & amending the Said windows and
doeing Several things necessary about the Said House,
and to Order new Umbrellas if the Court shall think
fit, Whereupon It is Ordered by this Court that it be and
