to Newgate before each Sessions to the great charge & trouble
of the Petr. who receives nothing thereby and as to Vagrants
in his care & custody Severall of them are turned out in open
Court by the petr; and the major part of the rest in a few
days after, and that the petr. predecessors were allowed a
Salary towards the Support of their great charge as
aforesaid, and likewise in keeping Evidences & persons to
attend them at the Old Baily , all which charge is very
great to the petr. and likewise that the Said House of
Correction is So Vastly out of repaire that there is hardly
any Safe keeping those comitted to the petrs. charge &
care, and the petr. therefore prayed that this Court would
take his case into consideration, and allow him as was
before allowed, to his predecessors, Otherwise the petr. is not
able to Support Soe great a charge, Whereupon It is
Ordered by this Court that it be and It is hereby

Justices of the peace for this County or any three or more
of them as a Committee to assemble & meet together,
and to take a view of the Said House of Correction , and to
take to their assistance Such able workman or workmen
as they Shall think fit, and to See if the Said House of
Correction is out of repaire, and if any and what repairs
are wanting & necessary to be done thereto, and if it
Shall appeare that the Same is out of repaire Then to
make an estimate of what it willcost well & effectually
to repaire the Same, and It is also referred to the Said
Committee to examine into and consider of the other
matters contained in the Said petition, and to maks their
report in writing touching the matters to them referred by
this order, unto the Court of General Quarter or General Sessions
of the peace for this County.
