Order appointing a
Comittee touching the
affaire of Mr. Joshua
Walker
< no role > Keeper of New
prison at Clerkenwell }

Whereas Mr. Joshua Walker< no role > Keeper of New prison at
Clerkenwell in the County was by the tenor of his Constitution
to be Keeper of New prison aforesaid to pay twenty pounds a
yeare to the Clerk of the peace of this County for the time
being or his Deputy by quarterly payments to be
applyed as the Court Should direct for repairing New
prison aforesaid and the dwelling house & appurtenances
thereto belonging untill the Same Should be effectually
repaired, and that from and after the effectual repairing
of the Same to the Satisfaction of the Court the payment
of the Said Sum of twenty pounds a yeare by the
Keeper of New prison aforesaid Should cease dureing
Soe long time as the Court of General or Quarter
Sessions of the peace for this County Should think fit
and noe longer, And whereas upon Information
given unto the Court of General Sessions of the peace
holden for the Said County by adjornment on Thursday
the twenty. Second day of February last that the Said
Joshua Walker< no role > had not Since the time of his being
appointed Keeper of the Said prison (to witt) Easter
Sessions one thousand Seven hundred and twenty five
paid the Said yearly Sum of twenty pounds or any
part thereof to the Clerk of the peace of this County
or his Deputy, His was by an order made by the Said
Court on the Said twenty Second day of February last
Ordered that the Said Joshua Walker< no role > Should forthwith pay
unto the clerk of the peace of this County or his Deputy the
Said yearly Sum of twenty pounds then due & in arreare,
and in case of his failure Soe to doe that he the Said
Joshua Walker< no role > Should attend the Court of the then next
General Quarter Sessions of the peace to be holden for this
County by adjorunment on Thursday the fifth day of
April now last past at one of the clock in the afternoon
to Shew cause why the Bond by him given for payment
of the Said yearly Sum Should not be put in Suit against
him, and why he Should not be put in Suit against him,
and why he Should not be discharged from his Said Office of
Keeper
