And have from time to time received Severall Reports or accounts
in writing of proceedings by the Justices of this County in
their respective petty Sessions upon the Severall heads recomended
by his Maties. gracious comands to their care, All which are
hereunto annexed and unto which to avoyd prolixity We
crave leave to referr Your Lordship,

The Said Committee have taken into their most Serious
consideracon the difficultys and obstruccons in the Suppressing
and preventing of Street robberys and other felonys and
misdemeanors menconed in your Lord pps Letter which
when attended to, doe in great part point out the measures
necessary and proper to be pursued more effectually to
answer the ends thereby proposed Touching which matters
they came to Severall particular Resolucons to which the
Justices now assembled have agreed and Submitt the
Same to your Lordships. Judgment, as follows (vizt.)

In the first place the Committee conceiving that nothing
could prove more effectuall to encourage all persons in the
apprehending and prosecuting of Street Robbers and other
Felons and persons returning from transportacon than a
prompt and easy payment of the Severall Rewards
appointed by Act of Parliament and his Maties. gracious
proclamacon for Such persons who Shall apprehend and
prosecute Such Offenders to conviccon, But having some
Generall Informacon that the Same or even a very in
considerable part thereof was not to be obtained
without Soe much difficulty expence and loss of time
as had in Some particular instances proved a ruin
instead of an encouragement to Some prosecutors &
their Familys proceeded to make a more particular
inquiry into the usuall and regular Steps taken and to
be taken by all persons Soe intituled for the obtaining the
Said Rewards And upon a thorough Informacon thereof
did find to their great Surprise and concern That even
