Order for menconing
streets & signs in
Recogn for licences
of new Victuallers

Complaint being made unto this Court by Mrs. Frances
Seymour< no role > on behalf of her husband Christopher Seymour< no role >
Gentleman Cryer of this Court that the Clerks to the
Justices of the Peace for this County (before whom Recognizances
are taken for granting of Licences to Victualers for selling
of Beer, Ale, Brandy or distilled liquors by retail after the
generall renewall of Victuallers licences) do bring or send
such Recognizances to the Office of the Clerk of the peace
of this County in Order to take out Licences thereupon
without menconing the Streets where such Victuallers
houses are scituate or the Signs of their houses, whereby the
said Cryer and his Agents are put to great difficulties in
finding out the houses where such Victuallers do inhabit
in order to deliver them the Licences belonging to them,
For prevention of which inconveniency for the future
It is Ordered by this Court that the respective Clerks
to his Majestys Justices of the peace for this County Do
mention in all Recognizances to be taken before their
respective Masters for granting of licences to Victualers
or Persons who sell Beer, Ale, Brandy or other
distilled Liquors by retail, (after the generall
renewall of Victuallers licences) the Streets where
such Victuallers or persons houses are scituate and
the Signs of their houses, Or in default thereof that
such Recognizances shall not be received at the
Office of the Clerk of the Peace of this County, And the
Clerk of the Peace or this Deputy is to take an Accompt
of the times when such Recognizances are brought to
his Office, and of the names of the persons who bring
the same thither, And publique notice hereof is to
be given at the next generall renewall of Victuallers
Licences within the severall Divisions in this County,
