On consideration had of the inconveniences that may happen
by nominating electing & appointing the Keeper of New Prison
the Governor and Keeper of the House of Correction at
Clerkenwell , the House Keeper of Hickshall & the Cryer of
the General & Quarter Sessions of the peace for this County and
other Officers during their good behaviour, and also the trouble
and expence that the County hath been put to, occasioned by the
aforenamed officers who have from time to time refused to obey
the Orders of this Court and have continued the possession of
their Offices and places, altho' they have by Order of this Court
been removed from their respective Offices and Places,
Therefore for preventing the like inconvenience trouble &
expences for the future This Court hath thought fit to
agree and doth agree to the following Resolutions, (vizt.)

This order is to be
publiquely read
before the eleccon
of the Keepers of New
Prison & the house of
Correccon at
Clerkenwell , the
Cryer & other
Officers,

That this Court will for the future nominate chuse & appoint
the Keeper of New Prison , the Governor and Keeper of the
said House of Correction, the House keeper of Hickshall &
Cryer of the Generall & Quarter Sessions of the Peace for
this County and all other Officers during the pleasure of
this Court only, and no longer, And that the said places be
for the future executed in person and not by Deputy, And
elections or appointments hereafter to be made.

Also that the Salary of Sixty pounds P Annum allowed by Order
of this Court to the Keeper of the said house of Correccon of late
Years be not continued for the future,

Also that all such Officers when elected shall before their
respective Admicons to their respective Officers enter into A
Bond to the Chairman of this County for the time being & two
more Justices of the peace of this County in Five hundred pounds
Conditioned for such Officers well demeanor in, & executon of
his Office in Person and not by Deputy, and for his peaceable
delivery up of his Office and of the Prisoners and also of the
Goods of this County comitted to his charge in such manner & to such
person or persons as he or they shall be required to do, by any Order
of Generall or Quarter Sessions,

And It is Ordered by this Court that the Resolutions above mencond
be publiquely read [..] by the Clerk of the peace of this County before
any nomination eleccon or appointment of the Officers before menconed
hereafter to be made and that it be entred in the Records of this
Court as a Standing Order of Sessions,
