Barge Master the prosecutor in this Cause William Speeding< no role > of
Grub Street in the County of Middlesex Victualler Thomas

and John Nelson< no role > of George Street in the Parish of Christ Church in
the County of Surry Bargeman severally make Oath and day and first
this Deponent James Lyon< no role > for himself saith That James Ivey< no role > of
Lambeth in the County of Surrey Barge Builder and Robert Colliver< no role > of
the same place Barge Builder are Material Witnesses in this Cause
And this Deponent is advised and verily believes the same to be true
that without their Testimony he cannot safely proceed to the Trial of
this Cause And this Deponent saith that he hath caused subpoeneas
to be issued from this Honourable Court to be served on the said
James Ivey< no role > and Robert Colliver< no role > and hath used his utmost diligence
to get the same served on the said James Ivey< no role > and Robert Colliver< no role >
but has not as yet been able to get the same served on the said
James Ivey< no role > and RobertThomasColliver< no role > And this Deponent further saith
that the said James Ivey< no role > and Robert Colliver< no role > are Servants to William
Cook
< no role > the Defendant above named And he has been informed which
Information this Deponent verily believes to be true And that the
said James Ivey< no role > and Robert Colliver< no role > an kept out of the way by the
said William Cook< no role > to prevent their giving their Testimony in this
Honorable Court on this Indictment And this Deponent William
Spedding
< no role > for himself saith that he for sometime [..] has knownfor
[..] the above named Robert Colliver< no role > a Journeyman to the
said William Cook< no role > and that on Tuesday the Ninth
day of this instant September the said Robert Colliver< no role > called at this
Deponents House in Grub Street aforesaid
and told this Deponent that he the said Robert Colliver< no role > had not been
fromat Home for a Week and was kept out of the way, and subsisted
by his Master Cook meaning the said William Cook< no role > to present him
from giving Evidence against the said William Cook< no role > on some Trial or
Trials that were expected to come on at the Old Bailey against
his said Master meaning the said William Cook< no role > And this Deponent
Thomas Dedley< no role > for himself saith that at the request of the
above named William Cook< no role > he became one of the Bail for the
above named William Akers< no role > for his personal appearance to take
