The Voluntary Examination of Robert
Kimber
< no role > taken before me one of the Aldermen of the
City of London the second day of January 1788 .

Who confesseth and saith that he received a Peice of white Jean from
John Langford< no role > now present and which Examinant sold to William Annand< no role >
of Shoe maker Row near Aldgate London for fourteen Shillings that the
said William Annand< no role > did not ask this Examinant any Question how he came
by it and Examinant did not ask any Price for it but told the said William
Annand
< no role > to give him what he could affordthat Examinant received
divers Quantities of Silk, Twist, Thread and Buttons of the said John
Langford
< no role > which Examinant sold to the said William Annand< no role > That this
Examinant sold all the Goods he had of the said John Langford< no role > to the said
William Annand< no role > ; that the said Annand never asked him any Question
how he came by the Goods he sold to him (that he some times set a
Price upon the Goods he so sold and the said William Annand< no role > gave the
Price he set upon themthat sometimes this Examinant took what
the said William Annand< no role > set upon themoffered for them That the
Examinant is a Judge of some of the Articles he so sold and that the
said William Annand< no role > gave him sixteen Shillings each Pounds [..]
Silk and Twist, which was worth twenty five Shillings each [..]
and two Shillings each Pound for Thread, which was worth [..]
Shillings and six PenceThat Examinant believes the said
William Annand< no role > must have known that the Goods so sold by him
were stolenThat this Examinant was told by a young Man [..]
lived in Cloth Fair that Annand was a proper Person to whom to
dispose of Goods and this Examinant hasdisposesold Goods to the
Amount of fifty Pounds to the said William Annand< no role > That the
largest Sum this Examinant has received at one time from the said
William Annand< no role > was about thirty ShillingsThat on Wednesday
last this Examinant received from John Langford< no role > four Pounds Weight
of Thread which he sold to the said William Annand< no role > for eight
ShillingsThat this Examinant has sold at different times to the
said Annand about ten Pounds Weight of Silk and ten Pounds Weight
of Twist and several Gross of Buttons And lastly this Examinant
saith that the Money found in his Box, was, excepting about five
Pounds, all the Produce of the Goods stolen by Langford from his
said Master and sold by this Examinant to the said William

Annand: And this Examinant further saith that he received three Shillings
and four Shillings each Gross for plated Buttons which were worth five
Shillings and six Pence and six Shillings each Gross for the Buttons
which were taken by the said John Langford< no role > from [..] the said John Welsford< no role >
and which were sold by him this Examinant to the said William Annand< no role > .
