The King agst. Isaac Jesuran< no role >
Alvares Indicted with others for a
Conspiracy on the Prosecution of
William Taylor< no role > and others,

Stephen Brown< no role > of Clements Inn in the County of
Middlesex Sollicitor for the Prosecutors in this cause
Maketh Oath that this Indictment was found at the last Session
of Oyer and Terminer holden in and for this City and that
Lawrence Jones< no role > one of the Defendants was shortly afterwards
apprehended on a Warrant granted by Mr. Justice Buller upon
the said Indictment and thereupon Entered into a Recognizance
to appear at the present Session to Answer the said Indictment
And this Deponent saith he hath not received any Notice of
Tryal from the said Lawrence Jones< no role > nor hath any such
Notice been Served on the Prosecutors to the knowledge or
Belief of this Deponent And this Deponent saith that
William Taylor< no role > the younger who resides at Norwich is in
the opinion of this Deponent a Very Material Witness for
the Prosecutors on this Indictment And that they Cannot
safely proceed to the Tryal of this Indictment against
Either of the Defendants Without the Testimony of the said
William Taylor< no role > And this Deponent further saith that he
Verily believes that the Defendant Alvares hath remained
in Custody with an Intention to take his Tryal at the
present Session for the purpose of discovering what
Evidence the Prosecutors are in Possession of to affect the
other Defendants and to put the Prosecutors to the
Trouble and Expence of attending twice or thrice in
London to give Evidence upon the said Indictment
against the Different Defendants And this Deponent saith
that notwithstanding his most diligent Endeavours for
the Purpose he hath not been able to get Joseph Isreal
the other Defendant Apprehended upon the said Warrant
but he this Deponent hath been informed that the said
Joseph Isreal is kept out of the Way by the said Defendant
Jones to prevent his being apprehended thereon And
lastly this Deponent saith that on the tenth day of this Instant
December he served the above named Defendant Alvares with
a true Copy of the Notice hereunto Annexed by delivering
the same to one of the Turnkeys at Newgate who in the
presence of this Deponent gave the same to the said Alvares,
