The Information of Patrick Welch< no role >
taken upon Oath the 27th. Day of April
1787

Saith That he served as a Maine on Board The
Egmount [..] Princess Amelia, Sybil, Recovery and Atlas,
That he made a Power of Attorney to Edward Hodge< no role > of
Plymouth Dock to receive his Prizen Money when he obtained
his Discharge about Four Years ago, that he then went
to Limerick in Ireland and stayed there Twelve Months
and then returned to Plymouth where Hodge paid him
his Prize Money, he then returned to Limerick and stayed
there untill about Five Weeks ago, that he landed at Pill
near Bristol and came from thence to London, That he
intended to go from hence to Plymouth to receive the
Remainder of his Prize Money, when he came to Town
he went to Messieurs Ommaney and Co: to Know Whethers
Hodge had received the Remainder of [..] his Money, That
he was there told that Mr. Lock had received the Money
by an Order from the Prisoner Thomas Hines< no role > , that he
was desired to call at the Office again the next Day, that
Ommaney sent for Lock to come there, That the Letter
of Attorney under which the Witness's Money was
paid was produced by Mr. Page, That Witness was asked
if he could write, that he sayd he could not, and that he
had executed no Power but to Hodge, Lock then sayd
he would produce Mr. Hines the Prisoner, and Page
threatened Lock with a Prosecution if Hines was not
produced
