on the 9th. day of September last the Bill of Exchange
now produced purporting to be the Bill of Exchange

or Messrs. Hammond and
Whitelock No.17 Crutched Fryers London
for the
Payment of One Hundred Pounds to Messrs. Scotland
Nash and Company or order for value received
to the account of the Ship Betsy
at two Months
after date and dated Cronstradz July 6th.
1786 was brought to the Banking House of Sir
James Esdaile & Co. in Lombard Street
as he
verily believes by a person now present who
calls himself Benjamin Gregson< no role >
who
Presented the same for Payment and received
in Payment for the same Two Bank Notes for
Forty Pounds and one Bank Note for Twenty
Pounds with the Marks and Figures following

says that the Acceptance to the said Bill of
Exchange of W. Hammond is not the Acceptance
of or Handwriting of this Informant And the

by this Informant is not the Hand Writing of this
Informant
