The Information of George Hardy< no role > Clock
to Messiours Sopplewell and Styan of Scotts
Yard Bush Lane Tea Dealers taken before
me this 6th day of December 1786

Who being on Oath saith that on Monday last he received
a Bank Note for Three hundred Pounds and another for Two
Hundred Pounds from the said Mr. Styan in Scotts Yard to carry
the same to Messrs. Munday and Walker at which Nine said
James Barnard< no role > was present That he received at the same time
from said Mr. Styan Cash< no role > and Bills to the Amount of Four
hundred and ten Pounds Seventeen Shillings and two Pence
with directions to leave that Sum at his Masters Bankers Messrs.
Castle and Company Lambard Street That when this Informant
was at said Messrs. Castles the said James Barnard< no role > came in who
asked this Informant if he had not five hundred Pounds to pay
to said Messrs Munday and Walker this Informant replied "Yes"
That said Barnard then said that he would go with him and
asked this Informant to drink a dish of Coffee. That in Cornhill
said Barnard desired this Informant to give him the five
hundred Pounds and he would pay it to said Messrs. Munday
and Walker at the same time giving this Informant a Draft
for Two hundred Pounds payable at Down as and Co. in
Bartholomew Lane< no role > That said Barnard added that after
he had been at said Munday and Walkers he would meet this
Informants at Downes's to receive said Two hundred Pounds
and pay it to Turner in Newgate Street as directed That
in consequence of said Barnards request this Informants
delivered to him the said Three hundred Pounds and Two hundred
Pounds Bank Notes for the Purpose of Paying the same to saith
Messrs. Munday and Walker
