The joint and several Informations of William
Pretty and William Durisk, taken before me William
Gill Esquire , one of His Majesty's Justices of the Peace in and
for the City of London , Who being upon Oath say, And
first the said William Pretty< no role > for himself saith that about two
o'Clock this Morning the Prisoner at the Bar Martha Baker< no role >
accorted him in Long Lane , and said she was in great
Distress says that out of Pity he took her to the Bulls Head
the Corner of Smithfield Bars and treated her with a Glass of
Rum they then walked together to the End of Nettleton Court
in Aldersgate street , when two Men came age and there he
was violently a Stacked and assaulted by two Men and the
Prisoner who dragged him up the Court, and the Prisoner took
his Watch out of his Pocket says that the Watch now
produced, is the same Watch that he last: And the
said William Durish for himself saith that he was coming
down Aldersgate street , when he heard the Cry of "stop
"Thief" that at the End of Nettleton Court he met the
Prisoner who was receiving says he said hold of her that the
other Informant William Pretty< no role > then came out of the
Court, and said the Prisoner had robbed him of his Watch
says that upon that he put his Hand into her Pocket
where he found the Watch, and took it out says that
the Watch now produced is the same Watch which he took
from the Prisoner, in the Manner aforesaid.
