Lambeth Tallow Chandler Taken the 12th. day of
January 1786
Who upon their Oaths severally say and first his Informant
Elizabeth Gittos for herself Saith That about The hour
of 4. oClock this afternoon She saw a Table made of
Mahogany upon a Maw head which The thought was her
Husband Property and Inspecting the Person has stolen
it She came down Stairs and Found that a Table had
been Taken away She therefore sent her Daughter after
the Man and the Table was Recorded and Brought back
but She cannot Swear to the Indentity of the Maw
Person who Stole the same
And this Informant John Marcroft< no role >
That at the
thistime this Transaction happened he was setting in the
front from of the Red Lyon and Ball Ale house opposite
to Mr. Gittos House and saw a Man take the said
Table from the door of his House and [..] Threw
a Basket away and proceeded down the street towards Holborn reith the
same That he followed and soon afterwards he saw
Mrs. Gittos coming a long with the Table whom he
informed That the said Man had Thrown down a
Basket and immediately afterwards he saw the said
Man Standing the corner of Grays some passage and he
was soon afterward taken into Custody and when in
Custody
he made meet Resistance and Endeavoured to
Make his Escape and get away That he was then Seamed
and taken before a Justice and says his Name is
